How to Enroll in Healthcare?
Problem:
Maybe you want to change your healthcare provider, see a different set of doctors or get new coverage? Have you ever been told that you can’t enroll in a healthcare plan?
I have!
If it’s not open enrollment or you don’t qualify for a special enrollment period...you might be stuck! Make sure you take care of yourself and your family and know how to enroll.
Answer: Open Enrollment
Health Care - November 1 to December 15.
Medicare: October 15 to December 7.
(or when turning 65yrs old, 3 months before or 3 months after your birth month)
Answer: Special Enrollment
Types of qualifying life events.
Loss of health coverage (job change…)
Life Change (Getting married or divorced, having a baby…)
Changes in residence
Changes in your income (so you qualify for different insurance)
Bottom Line: Be ready for Open Enrollment!
Health Care - November 1 to December 15.
Medicare: October 15 to December 7.
